Invitation to Working Group for the Rheintal Closure

DB InfraGO, together with RFC North Sea – Rhine – Mediterranean, is inviting industry partners to a virtual kick-off for a new sector working group focused on optimizing rail freight operations during the extensive construction works on the Rhine Valley Railway between Offenburg and Basel from 2027 to 2029. The meeting will take place on December 11, 2025, between 11:30 and 13:30 via MS Teams. This dedicated working group, created at the request of international rail freight companies, aims to develop and support rerouting concepts to address the limited alternative routes caused by the region’s geographical constraints. In close cooperation with SBB Infrastruktur and SNCF Réseau, the platform allows all interested rail freight operators to share their needs and shape solutions together within regulatory frameworks. Detailed information will be provided during the kick-off. DB InfraGO looks forward to constructive collaboration and successful outcomes for all parties involved. The meeting will be held in German.
