Publication of the Implementation Plan for the RFC North Sea – Rhine – Mediterranean

The Executive Board and Management Board of the RFC North Sea – Rhine – Mediterranean are pleased to publish today the jointly developed implementation plan for the new Rail Freight Corridor. This marks the start of the hot phase of establishing the new corridor governance, which will culminate in the first joint publication of capacity in January 2026 (for TT 2027).

In addition to a detailed description of the characteristics of the new Corridor, the implementation plan also includes the measures for implementing EU Regulation 913/2010 and the objectives of the Corridor work.

The document outlines key milestones for the transition process, providing guidance to all partners and stakeholders involved. It defines the timeline for the integration of systems and processes, as well as cooperative frameworks to ensure a seamless and efficient implementation. Special emphasis is placed on transparency, interoperability, and close cross-border collaboration, which are essential for the sustainable success of the new Rail Freight Corridor.

Stakeholders are invited to familiarize themselves with the plan and contribute actively during the further implementation phases. Regular updates and opportunities for feedback will be provided to ensure the corridor meets the needs of the European rail freight sector and supports modal shift objectives.
